2015 FORD EDGE SPORT
Conversion Project
CODE NAME 'SNOW WHITE'
Stock Pictures of my FORD EDGE - March 2015 |
---|
Stock Interior | Slowly I started to think about a design. This year Edge looks like a blank canvas just looking for some new looks. I started by adding back the nicer SPORT caps on the RIMS. |
---|
Started to understand and researched vinyl car wraps. I wrapped the side rockers with Carbon Fiber with a Red Stripe. Slowly something was starting to come together. | Passenger side showing the mirror with half Carbon Fiber and Red Stripe. Added a custom 2.7 TwinTurbo emblem to the side fenders. | Front splitter completed as well as driver Mirror. Basic red painted calipers are done. |
---|---|---|
Added some red Vinyl to the grill. But didn't like the look of it in the end and I removed it. | Rear vinyl complete - Added back the previous gen EDGE logo which I like better. A Sport, black EcoBoost and ASC badge added as well. |
I then heard about a tune for the 2015 EDGE that Livernois had. I then started to think about why hasn't FORD made a higher performing SUV. Or how about ROUSH making parts for the EDGE. I then decided to make an aftermarket ROUSH EDGE. | Dyno run of the tune available for the 2015 Ford Edge. | So the idea was born. Could we get the Edge to look like it came from Roush and get performance parts to make it worthy of having the Roush badge and not just the looks? |
---|
A Little engine compartment clean up. Wrapped the cover in Carbon Fiber from Metro Restyling. | Painted the intake cover RED and added some carbon fiber and put a Roush Badge on as well. | Red really looks good against the white car. |
---|---|---|
Dropped a K&N in as well. |
First part found was the center caps from a Roush Mustang. They fit the stock EDGE sport wheels with no modifications and look great! | Next the car really had to be lowered to get a more aggressive stance. Found that H&R had springs that significantly lowered the car but the ride was not sacrificed at all. | Started to research exhaust options next. After careful consideration I went with an X-Pipe and MRT mufflers. The sound is incredible from stock and is perfect at highway speeds. |
---|---|---|
Full shot of the X-Pipe back to the Mufflers. | X-Pipe 2.5" stainless. | MRT Mufflers Look great under the back end! |
Was able to determine that a set of Roush Mustang Black tips would fit in the opening of where the Chrome OEM Edge sports tips were. | I had to have these installed/welded in. I didn't want to take a chance of them coming loose or not looking good. The staggered look is perfect! They don't look oversized and look like they are suppose to be there. | Full view of the Roush exhaust Tips. |
To really compliment the build of this Ford Edge and increase safety we had to find some brakes. Luckily ROTORA had a kit. And its a BIG KIT!! | It was an exciting day when this BIG box showed up! | Complete with Stainless Steel lines and High performance pads! |
---|---|---|
Of course great packing and these calipers are HUGE! 6 Pistons and the RED color is perfect! | The rotors will fill out the big rims with no problem. Front rotors are 380mm or just shy of 15". Rear rotors are 350mm or just shy of 14". | Nice pic of the front calipers. |
4 Pistons out back are no joke as well. | This brake setup will make the car worthy of having a Roush badge on it. On top of stopping on a dime! | Front caliper looks really nice behind the rim! |
Again, rear calipers are big. Bigger than some FRONT brake systems. |
Front end fully assembled. New full Gloss Black Grille, New lower grille with full holes punched out. New OEM DRLS and new Roush Badge. | Front SS-Tuning splitter installed and view of engine compartment. Strut Tower brace, Oil catch can all checked. | Passenger side view. New hockey stick graphics installed along with new Roush Edge fender badges. 2.7L Ecoboost logo moved. |
---|---|---|
Close up on passenger side. More pictures coming when weather turns nicer. | Added side decals of the companies that I bought my most important parts from. Thanks to all!!! | Full side view of passenger side of car. All these decals have such a great contrast on the matte white. |
Had a decent day so I backed the car out and took a picture of the driver side. More pictures in the coming weeks. |
Stock interior lacks color and needs some updating. | Dressed up the interior a little bit with some red vinyl. Add some red to the doors as well. Added Roush Badges to the seats in front and back. | Another angle showing the RED and CARBON FIBER vinyl pieces. Got rid of all the Chrome. |
---|---|---|
Almost done wrapping the wheel. | Wrapped the steering wheel with RED sight line. | Added weather tech floor matts with my added touch of carbon fiber and white Roush Logo. |
Another angle of the front interior highlighting the red. | Blacked out the logo on the wheel and added Carbon Fiber accents on the wheel. | Weather Tech matt for the cargo/trunk area. Again Roush and Carbon Fiber accents. |
Looks good with the Roush Tips. | Custom background on the Nav Screen as well as a Stage 3 engine badge. |
Off course the main course is adding the Roush hockey sticks to the side. These are suppose to be for a Mustang but fit the Edge with no issues. I cut out the EDGE at the top for an added touch. | Was able to find someone on the internet that could make me some fender badges. Not bad! | Stage 3 OEM badge on the gas tank. |
---|---|---|
Close up on the gas cap. The carbon fiber and red look great. | Front brakes look good with the Hockey stick. Added a billet aluminum 2.7 Twin Turbo Ecoboost badge to the fender. | Added a lighted Ford grille badge and took a Mustang Roush grille emblem and modified it fit the EDGE grille. Also cut out the plastic and added a second set of DRLs from Phillips. |
ROUSH badge looks at home against the black grille. | Black Jack Roush Edition decal on the hood looks sweet. | Completed front end... |
ROUSH F-150 windshield banner looks like its suppose to be there. | Added a Roush EDGE emblem to rear hatch. | Blacked out the Ford logo in the back brake light. |
Initial design completed. Front shot. | Side shot. Colors are popping in the sun. | Hockey stick graphic looks great. |
Being lowered really makes the stance look aggressive. |
After about 1 year, I decided to start thinking of some new additions to the Roush Edge - Found a new splitter. Wrapped it in Carbon Fiber and added the signature red stripe. | Having a black hood/carbon fiber hood started to play in my mind so I wrapped the hood in Carbon fiber and replace the Jack Roush decal with a white one. | Rear diffuser still looking great!! |
---|---|---|
Added some more red to the interior. The red on the instrument cover looks really good. Now I feel the interior is complete. | Rear spoiler wrapped in Carbon Fiber with red accent. | Adding the Carbon Fiber wrapped to the hood and spoiler really helped to break up a lot of the white. |
Phase 2 in full swing. Decided to take on the challenge of wrapping the entire car in KPMF matte white. Disassemble of the whole front end is step 1. This will allow for the wrap to be tucked and look really good. Cleaned up AGS as the car has 50K miles on it. | Radiator now clean and looks very good. | Another angle on the clean up of the radiator and AGS area. |
---|---|---|
Time to start the wrap. No turning back now!! | Pass View - Matte white installed on whole front bumper. Wrapping the sensors does not effect functionality. As you can see there is an extreme difference in color of the car and the white matte vinyl. This is really going to look good compared to the yellowish tri-coat OEM paint. Paint Is Dead anyways!! | Front view of bumper wrap. |
Driver side - Bumper wrap. |
Front bumper all trimmed. Looking really good. All corners and folds sealed with clear seal tape for added protection. | Pass view of trimmed front bumper along with passenger side fender completion. | Passenger front door wrapped. Door handles did have to come off for the matte door wrap. I decided to wrap the door handles in Carbon fiber. The contrast against the white matte is incredible. |
---|---|---|
Driver side rear door is next. Handles are removed and door is prepped and ready to be wrapped. I also removed the black window door sill trim to make it easier to wrap and not have to do so much tuck and trim. | Passenger side ready as well. | Inside the hatch view. |
Full disassemble of the rear hatch/gate and rear lower bumper. All lights have been removed. | Like the front bumper the rear was removed for ease of trimming and wrapping of corners. | Hatch/Gate and lower bumper all wrapped. Wrapped the area where the switch is in Carbon fiber. Again it really pops out against the white. |
Fast forward a little. Rear Red reflector back installed and bumper/diffuser all tightened down. Rear emblems installed. |
